Howard Bender of Any Language Communications, an applied research and development company focusing on natural language understanding software, has been awarded a patent (USPTO number 7,739,102) for “Relationship Analysis System and Method for Semantic Disambiguation of Natural Language.” According to the company, relationship analysis is a novel semantics-oriented approach that's able to interpret language in context with an unrestricted vocabulary in any language, and can recognize nuances that are impossible in systems based on syntax. Relationship analysis has been successfully tested with texts in Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi and Russian.
